Schalksmühle, 2020-08-03. For precisely 87 years, the globally-operating manufacturer of connectors and contact systems with in-house development and production facilities has been headquartered in Schalksmühle in Germany’s Sauerland region. More than 1,000 young people have completed an apprenticeship in a variety of occupational fields in Germany at the family business which currently is run by the third generation. This year, Lumberg welcomes a further eight new trainees, five of whom at the headquarters in Schalksmühle and three at the company’s largest production facility in Cloppenburg.
At the headquarters in Schalksmühle, Safak Kilic starts his apprenticeship as a qualified IT specialist and Michelle Münchhoff starts her training as an industrial management assistant. Marlon Fröhlich decided to train as a tool mechanic and starts in Factory 1 in Everinghauserheide. Maren Schmermbeck is new on board as a trainee in technical product design and Richard Gebel (photo from left) starts in the job description of a management assistant in informatics.
In Plant 2 in Cloppenburg, Dominik Deeken also starts his apprenticeship as a management assistant in informatics, Jan Hempen starts as an industrial mechanic and Christoph Meier has chosen to train as a mechatronics fitter.
For a knowledgeable and sound professional future, the trainees will go through a regular rotation system to acquaint themselves with the different fields, departments and locations, in line with their respective occupational profile. They will familiarize themselves with relevant matters that relate to the products made by Lumberg and learn about working in different team structures as well as the flows of a modern industrial operation.
